WEANING
It is the period when supplementary food is introduced to the
new in addition to the mother's milk generally after 6 months of exclusive
breastfeeding is the right time to start weaning it is also called as
supplementary food it is the gradual process of shifting the baby’s nutrition
from mother's milk to the food after the age of 6 months mothers milk alone is
not sufficient to meet the nutritional needs of the newborn baby and sustain
the growth
Baby's
cal need is 110 - 125 ml/ kg of weight n the fluid requirement is 150 to 175 ml
per kg of body weight need for minerals like Iron is to be fulfilled by weaning.
We
start weaning which is the semi-solid food that contains proteins, fats,
carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and fibers knowledge regarding this is
crucial as it is the most important period of nutrition in child development it
takes if taken care of properly we can save our baby from protein-energy
